IEC 62368-1:2023 sets 60 V DC as the steady-state ES1 voltage limit; it is not a universal SELV ceiling. A nominal 48/50 V rack bus sits below it, but ES1 classification also evaluates normal, abnormal and single-fault conditions, and a high-current bus still carries arc, short-circuit and stored-energy hazards.
60 V DCobserved
| Value kind | observed — Reported measurements, counts, and specifications keep the precision and scope stated by their source; an exact specification is not treated as a range. |
|---|---|
| Scope | Applies to contact-voltage classification only. It is no exemption from task-specific electrical safe-work controls. |
| Caveat | Arc and thermal controls depend on available fault current, clearing time, stored energy, working distance and the task, not on nominal voltage alone. Follow the listed assembly, the manufacturer's instructions and the project's electrical safety program. |
