OCP Open Data Center row power-density design targets

25 kW/ft blended average (15 kW/ft air-cooling capability and 25 kW/ft liquid-cooling capacity); 350 kW/ft peak IT; 125 kW/ft expected for 2027 peak racksrecommendation

Value kindrecommendation — Recommendations are design guidance, not measured facts; validate them against the project boundary conditions.
ScopeKilowatts per linear foot of row. The 25 kW/ft blended average requires both 15 kW/ft of air-cooling capability and 25 kW/ft of liquid-cooling capacity; the air figure is not 15 kW/ft of the 25. The peak is 335 kW/ft liquid cap plus 15 kW/ft air in ML zones. At 125 kW/ft, a 56 in rack-and-sidecar pair would carry about 580 kW; that is the guide's arithmetic, not a product specification.
CaveatDesign targets for 2027–2028 AI/ML systems in a voluntary multi-vendor specification (AMD, Google, Meta, NVIDIA); not measured or shipping racks.
